Pond and Park Cleanup Day
Ponds, parks, and the natural areas around them collect much of the debris of winter’s windy assaults. Pond & Park Cleanup Day was initiated to protect the natural habitat and enhance the aesthetics of Farmington ponds by cleaning up the garbage that has accumulated over the winter. Individuals, civic groups, businesses, clubs, youth organizations, and neighborhood groups are invited to participate in cleaning up a City owned pond or park. The City will provide volunteers with supplies and dispose of the garbage. After the cleanup efforts, volunteers will be treated to lunch.Volunteer for the 9th Annual Community Pond and Park Cleanup!
Please contact Jen Dullum at 651-280-6845 or jdullum@ci.farmington.mn.us by April 23rd, 2010 if you are interested in volunteering. |
Last year more than 400 volunteers picked up 1.34 tons of garbage from local natural areas during the 2009 Pond and Park Clean-up Day.
