2030 Parks & Recreation Comprehensive Plan
The 2030 Park and Recreation Master Plan is a planning document that was created by and for City residents. It was created due to the Metropolitan Council’s requirement for City’s to update their Comprehensive Plans every 10 years. As a result, the City’s previously approved 2020 Park and Recreation Master Plan was updated to reflect the growth of the City’s park system, trails, recreational programs and recreational facilities. It serves as a guiding document for future decisions to be made by the City of Farmington concerning its existing and future parks, trails, recreational programs and recreational facilities. The 2030 Park and Recreation Master Plan is part of an overall City Comprehensive Plan that has been approved by the City Council early in 2009 after it first had been reviewed and approved by the City’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission and Planning Commission and by the Metropolitan Council. The City has begun implementing the policies and strategies set forth in the 2030 Park and Recreation Master Plan.
