Utility Bill Information

Farmington residents and businesses are billed quarterly for utilities, which include water, storm water, sanitary sewer, and street light. If you have questions about utility billing or need to set up services, contact Utility Billing at 651-280-6883.

How to Read Your Utility Bill

Utility bills provide customers with information about their charges in an easy to read format. The bill includes your account and customer number. Both numbers are needed to correctly apply your payment.

Utility Bill Payment Options

Customers have many options available to pay their utility bill. Payments may be made online, by phone, by mail, at one of our drop off boxes or in person at city hall. You may also choose to set-up recurring payments from your checking/savings account or debit/credit card.

Online

You may pay your bill electronically with electronic check or debit/credit card 24/7. You will need to have both your account and customer number, which you will find on your billing statement.

Rental Property Owners

The city does not recommend providing your customer number to your tenants. If you do and live in the City of Farmington, tenants would be able to see your personal account. They would also be able to view utility account information for any Farmington rental property you may own.

By Phone

You may pay your bill by phone with electronic check or debit/credit card 24/7 by calling 1-855-985-1092. You will need to have both your account and customer number, which you will find on your billing statement.

Recurring Automatic Payments

Customers are able to sign-up for recurring automatic payments on the city's new utility billing website.

Payments You Initiate Through Your Financial Institution

If you pay your utility bill online through your financial institution, you must include the account number and customer number from your utility bill on the check in order for your payment to be properly applied. Please be advised because the bill pay service issues the city a manual check, it may take up to 14 business days before the city receives the check from your financial institution.
