COVID-19 Updates

Due to the state's Emergency Executive Order 20-81, all staff and visitors at city facilities must wear masks. This order applies to polling places as well. View the state's FAQ page for more information.

Service and Facility ImpactsDrive thru COVID-19 testing

The following city facilities are closed to the public: 

  • Police Department

  • Both Fire Departments

  • Rambling River Center - By appointment only. Call 651-280-6970.

Farmington Liquors: The Farmington Liquors Pilot Knob location is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The downtown liquors location is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.!

Building Inspections Department
: Need a building permit? Visit the building permit page for more information.

Parks: Playgrounds are open. The equipment will not be cleaned or sanitized. Use at your own risk. Playground visitors should abide by social distancing protocols and wash hands after use. Parks and trails have remained open. Please do not visit the parks, playgrounds or the trails if you are sick.   • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Visit the CDC's symptoms and testing webpage if you think you have been exposed.

  • Dakota County 
    • Dakota County Emergency Preparedness

    • COVID-19 public health hotline: 952-891-7834. The line is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. to answer questions residents have about Coronavirus. Public health nurses answering the hotline will assist callers seeking help for housing, financial support, mental health and other issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

    • Dakota County Community Resources - Child care, eviction prevention, healthy living, hotlines, housing, free student lunches and more.

    • Dakota County Business Resources - Checklists, employment assistance, mental health, federal & state resources and more.

  • 360 Communities
    • Local Food Support Resources

    • Lewis House shelters - Members of our community may not be safe at home during this pandemic. That's why 360 Communities' Lewis House shelters are open, and domestic violence advocates are still working. They are taking extra steps to ensure the health and safety of all their staff and residents, so they can remain open and serving the community. If you or someone you know isn't safe at home right now, please call 651-452-7288 or 651-437-1291.
  • United Way 2-1-1 - Provides free and confidential health and human services information for people in Minnesota, They work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to connect people with the resources and information they need. Whether in a crisis, or just need a little support, they’re here to help. Community service providers should create or update their agency profile here.

  • Open to Business is your FREE business assistance resource provided by Dakota County. During this time the Open to Business team is ready to discuss your business concerns from COVID-19 related funding needs (Federal, State) to cash flow and next steps for keeping your business open.
