Public Events and Outreach

Farmington Fire Department is dedicated to serve the community through public events, education and outreach programs. From coffee with your firefighters, to Fire Prevention Week, and the annual open house in October; the department participates in events year-round to promote fire safety and create ties in the community.

The department also assists the Farmington Fire Department Relief Association and Auxiliary Association organizations with fundraisers to support the members of the Farmington Fire Department.

Fire Prevention Week

100 years of fire prevention!

The Farmington Fire Department is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®)—the official sponsor of Fire Prevention Week for 100 years—to promote this year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign: "Fire won't wait. Plan your escape." Today's homes burn faster than ever. You may have as little as two minutes (or even less time) to safely escape a home fire from the time the smoke alarm sounds.

Education tools for teachers and families including free downloads are available at firepreventionweek.org.

Fire Department Open House

Fire Station 2, 19695 Municipal Drive.

The Fire Prevention Open House is an opportunity to educate the public about fire safety and preventative measures that you can take to avoid fires or other emergencies in your home. In addition, we will give tours of the fire station and fire trucks. And demonstrate some of the many ways we serve the community. Sparky the Fire Pup will be there for photos and if the weather is favorable, North Memorial Air Care helicopter and flight crew will visit!
